The tour begins in Guwahati, proceeding to Tezpur (Assam) before entering Arunachal Pradesh. It then follows a captivating route through the mountainous regions of Dirang, Tawang, and Bomdila, showcasing Buddhist culture and Himalayan vistas. The journey then shifts to the state capital Itanagar, before culminating in the picturesque Apatani Valley of Ziro, renowned for its unique tribal life and natural beauty. The tour concludes with a return drive to Dibrugarh/Guwahati for departure.

Day 1Guwahati to Tezpur - The City of Eternal Romance

  • Morning (Arrival & Drive): Arrive at Guwahati Airport (GAU). Meet your tour representative and embark on a scenic drive to Tezpur (approx. 4-5 hours). As you leave the bustling city of Guwahati, witness the landscape gradually transform into the serene Assamese countryside.
  • Afternoon (Tezpur Exploration): Check into your hotel in Tezpur. After a short rest, explore Tezpur, known as the “City of Eternal Romance.”
    • Visit Agnigarh Hill, a historical fortress with panoramic views of the Brahmaputra River.
    • Explore Chitralekha Udyan (Cole Park), a beautifully maintained garden with historical artifacts.
    • If time permits, visit the ancient Mahabhairab Temple.

Day 2Tezpur to Dirang - Gateway to the Monpa Heartland

  • Morning (Scenic Drive): After breakfast, embark on a picturesque drive to Dirang (approx. 5-6 hours). The journey enters Arunachal Pradesh via Bhalukpong, where your Inner Line Permit (ILP) will be checked. Witness the change in landscape from plains to rolling hills.
  • Afternoon (Dirang Exploration): Arrive in Dirang, a charming valley town. Check into your hotel.
    • Visit the historical Dirang Dzong (Fort), a 17th-century Monpa fort.
    • Explore the serene Thubsung Dhargyeling Monastery (Dirang Monastery).
  • Evening: Relax and acclimatize to the higher altitude. Overnight stay in Dirang.

Day 3Dirang to Tawang - The Land of the Dawn-Lit Mountains

  • Morning (Journey over Sela Pass): Today is a highlight as you drive from Dirang to Tawang (approx. 5-6 hours). The journey involves crossing the breathtaking Sela Pass (13,700 ft), often snow-covered, offering incredible panoramic views. Stop at the beautiful Sela Lake.
  • Afternoon (Tawang Arrival & Memorial): Arrive in Tawang. Check into your hotel.
    • Visit the Jaswant Garh War Memorial, a poignant tribute to a brave Indian soldier.
  • Evening: Enjoy the crisp mountain air. Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 4Tawang - Monastic Marvels and Natural Beauty

Post breakfast we will be exploring Tawang. The major attractions for today are:
Tawang Monastery for eternal peace (The Monastery is the second biggest and
oldest in Asia and is known as the Tawang Ganden Namgyal Lhatse i.e., the celestial
paradise of divine site chosen by the horse was founded by Merag Lodroe Gyamtso in
the year 1680-81.),
The Giant Buddha Statue, Tawang War Memorial and the Tawang local market.
Explore the whole Tawang and try the ethnic local cuisines

Day 5Bumla Pass/ Sungester Lake

This day we have to start early to cover BUMLA PASS and Madhuri Lake.
Bum La Pass is just situated at near China Border and it was used by Dalai Lama to
get asylum in India from Tibet. While coming back from Bum La Pass we will visit
Madhuri Lake, which usually freezes in winter season .
After capturing breath taking views we will come back to Tawang.

Day 6Tawang to Bomdila - Orchids and Panoramic Views

  • Morning (Return Journey): After breakfast, begin your drive back from Tawang to Bomdila (approx. 6-7 hours), once again traversing the Sela Pass.
  • Afternoon (Bomdila Exploration): Check into your hotel in Bomdila.
    • Visit the Bomdila Monastery, offering stunning panoramic views of the town and surrounding valleys.
    • Explore the Bomdila View Point for sweeping vistas.
  • Evening: Relax in Bomdila. Overnight stay in Bomdila.

Day 7Bomdila to Itanagar - The Capital's Charm

  • Morning (Drive to Capital): Drive from Bomdila to Itanagar, the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh (approx. 7-8 hours). The journey will offer varied landscapes.
  • Afternoon (Itanagar Sightseeing): Arrive in Itanagar and check into your hotel.
    • Visit Ita Fort, a historical brick fort that gives the city its name.
    • Explore the Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum, showcasing the state’s tribal heritage, handicrafts, and archaeological finds.

    • Begin your exploration with a walk through the Ziro Valley, admiring the terraced rice fields and the unique bamboo houses of the Apatani villages (e.g., Hong Village, Hija Village).
